Landscaping for a Heritage Listed Property in Haberfield
When we first arrived at this beautifully restored federation home in Haberfield, there was only one tree standing. We had a blank canvas, presenting the perfect opportunity to design a garden that would complement the elegance of the house and provide a great space for children to enjoy. The goal was to create a formal garden with a stylish yet functional layout, incorporating elements that would resonate with the heritage and charm of Haberfield.
Thoughtful Planting & Design
To achieve this, we used simple planting schemes with straight lines and neat rows. The plant selection included Buxus japonica, Lillypillys, Gardenias, and Camellias, all chosen for their beauty and suitability to the local climate. These plants were lined with brick edging and equipped with a comprehensive irrigation system to ensure they thrive. The neat rows and structured design contribute to a formal and elegant look that enhances the property’s curb appeal, reflecting Haberfield’s renowned garden aesthetics.
Finishing Touches for Functionality & Style
For the lawn, we laid Sir Walter buffalo grass, known for its durability and lush appearance, making it ideal for children to play on. Additionally, we incorporated 400mm x 400mm charcoal pavers to build pathways that blend seamlessly with the garden’s aesthetic. These pavers not only add a stylish element but also provide practical walkways throughout the garden.
By focusing on these elements, we transformed the garden into a stunning, functional space that perfectly matches the restored federation home’s charm. Our careful selection of plants and materials ensures that the garden is not only beautiful but also sustainable and easy to maintain, making it a true Haberfield gem.
